Round 5 was another exciting weekend of racing in Reading, Pennsylvania and marked the halfway point of the thrilling BooKoo Arenacross series.
Many teams showed up in PA wanting to make a statement, and the MDK Speed Equipment Team did just that. Coming off a rough week in TX due to flu like symptoms, Tyler Bowers was looking to rebound and get back in the chase for the 450 class title.

On Friday in the 250 main event, Tyler got off to a rough start and had to make his way up through the pack, while teammate Zach Ames looked to stay close to Tyler for the remainder of the race. Zach finished 3rd, and Tyler worked his way up to 2nd and was closing the gap on the leader when the checkered flag flew. What a great way to start off the weekend for the MDK Speed Equipment Team.
In the 450 main event on Friday, Bowers was charging hard through the pack ready to overtake the lead when smoke started pouring out of his bike. As Tyler pushed his bike through the double-double section to finish the race, the clutch failed and burned up on the last lap! Zach Ames put in another impressive run as he finished 3rd. Things really didn't go Tiger Lacey's way as he battled bad luck and had a few hard run-in's with other rider's.
On Saturday in the 250 class Tyler made another charge for the front and captured a solid 2nd place, while teammate Tiger Lacey finished 4th.
In the 450 main there were many riders crashing on and off the track, and it was just total chaos! Tyler was patient and worked through traffic to capture his 2nd win of the series.

Interviewed after the race, Bowers commented "It feels good to get the win. I have to keep making smart decisions and get as many points each week to have a chance at the championship. I would like to thank my Mom and Dad, my sister Chelcy, my teammates Zach Ames and Tiger Lacey, my mechanic Dave Strausbaugh, MDK Speed Equipment, Shift, Tag, One Industries, Spokesaver.com, Maxxis, FMF, Hinson, Enzo, Twin Air, Works Connection, and everyone who has supported me up to this point."
Now with Tyler only 17 points behind the leader Darcy Lange he will be trying to overtake the 450 class heading in to the 6th round in Chicago.
