THE SUPERMOTO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JETS TO ITALY FOR THE NEXT ROUND!

FUNCHAL (PORTUGAL)- The FIM Supermoto World Championship goes back to Italy to celebrate the sixth Grand Prix of the 2006 season.

After the many successes in the country, like Latina and Castelletto di Branduzzo, Supermoto was missing Italy a little bit and decided to come back for the Grand Prix "Les Alpes de la Mer".

The journey back to Italy will actually begin from Belfast where the first edition of the Supermoto of Nations will take place this weekend. Many of the riders participating in the Supermoto World Championship are there and will have to cross the Irish Sea first, then England, the Channel and finally the rest of Europe.

Such a trip will be like a big jump from Northern Ireland to Italy but what matters is the landing; for sure they will land on both feet, on the track of Busca.

The very "young" circuit was built in 1999 and will host the Supermoto World Championship for the first time. It is already fit to face such challenge: the paddock is 15000 square metres, the circuit is 1500 metre long (1180 metres of tarmac and about 300 metres of off-road) and the average width is 9 metres.

It will not be a long journey for the many Italian Supermoto fans while people coming from abroad will get the chance to visit the North West of Italy and spend some holidays there. Heading down to Latina for the penultimate round of the World Championship, the Grand Prix of Italy, would be the second step.

After the race in Busca there will be another one in Latina; riders will keep their focus up for the final run of the Championship that will probably be decided only in the last race, in Athens the 5th of November.

In S1 Iddon's recovery on Hiemer seems quite a hard job at the moment but still it is not impossible; on the other hand the S2 class has many riders "on the ball" like current Championship leader Van den Bosch, closely followed by Giraudo, Seel, Chareyre and Bolley.

There are still 2 World Titles to be won and there will be surely a lot of action in the final 3 rounds.
